About

The Accidental Monk is a term that David Nayan came up with for himself as he was working on one of his first blogs. While being an extremely romantic person he has found himself living in the forests of Holland in a nearly monastic life. From this vantage point he writes about his life, love, spirituality, current events and anything else that catches the inspiration of his heart.

David is a Colombian/American novelist, political scientist, businessman and a teacher of Maharishi’s Transcendental Meditation.

He graduated (cum laude) with a B.A. in Business from Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa and did his Masters in Political Science at Los Andes University in Bogota, Colombia. He has worked as an investment banker with Quaestor Group (Hungary) and in several business ventures in Colombia.

David was the youngest candidate for the Colombian Senate in 2006 with the Cambio Radical party under the guidance of German Vargas Lleras (current Interior Minister). He is currently working with the Global Country of World Peace to bring Maharishi’s scientifically proven programs to the under-privileged populations of Latin America.

He has been actively writing since the age of 16 and completed the first draft of his novel, “In the Absence of the Sun” in 2004. This novel is in the middle of the editing process. David is currently working on his second novel, “The Space Between” which should be finished by the end of 2010.
